My story

I have been practicing yoga since I was a teenager. I’ve always been active - dancing, running, horse riding, surfing, the list goes on…so at first, I went to yoga to ‘stretch’. Or so I thought. I remember coming away from classes feeling a deep sense of comfort, a feeling of being at home in my body, something that I struggled with for a long time. I gradually began to realise that yoga was not just about conditioning my body. Rather, it was also enabling me to better understand myself and the world around me. Yoga gave me a safe space to heal, build confidence and get clarity.

I followed the well-trodden path of practicing the more intense forms of yoga at first - Bikram, Ashtanga, power yoga etc. I was addicted to these stronger practices because aside from the endorphin hit, they helped me disarm my mind and feel a sense of peace. As the years passed by, I gradually became attuned to the more subtle practices that yoga offers, and I developed a growing appreciation for the power of simplicity.

After racing through my 20’s in the fast lane and with a Law degree and an accomplished career in Marketing under my belt, I decided to press pause on UK life and up sticks to Australia in search of ocean, nature and space. I was taking a metaphorical breath.

Within a few months, I was serendipitously offered a place on my first teacher training course in Byron Bay. Nine years on, many courses and thousands of classes later, I am now proud and grateful to be a registered Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist working based in East Sussex, UK.

I enjoy teaching a wide variety of asana and meditation classes including dynamic vinyasa, nourishing restorative yoga, and yoga nidra. In a Yoga Therapy context, my specialties include working with spine dysfunction, chronic stress and nervous system rehabilitation, depression and anxiety, yoga for older bodies or beginners, chronic pain, and pre and post natal yoga.

I have completed over 1250 hours of training, including:

  • Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training (350 hours), Yoga Rhythms, Australia

  • Graduate Certificate in Yoga Therapy (750 hours), Yoga Therapy Institute
